Car Parts - Car Engines
Prices vary widely on rebuilt car engines. I have the job of tracking down car engines for my father’s repair shop. He also has me drive to where the engine is if it is within a five hour drive.
I had a customer come into the shop looking for a rebuilt car engine for her son’s 1995 Hummer. I searched and found one Little Rock. My father had me drive to get it. I didn’t mind driving to Little Rock because I got to eat at Jasmine’s. I love that they have a lot of vegetarian options.
Our customer was pleased with the Hummer car engine we found for her. She told several of her friends that also needed car engines to visit our shop. My father got three more customers within a week of completing that job.
The next trip that my father sent me on was to Dallas. I was sent to a shop that had three different car engines for old jeeps. I was supposed to pick the one that looked like it was in the best shape. It was really no choice at all; one was in much better shape than the other two.
On the way to the shop with the car engines, I stopped at Pho 21 and ate a marvelous bowl of soup. I think that the Vietnamese food that I get in Dallas is some of the best I’ve ever eaten. I made sure to stop at the Hong Kong Marketplace on my way out of the shopping center. They have an extensive seafood selection. It is unlike any other store that I know of.
I went to Baton Rouge about a week later to get two car engines for my father. The place he found in Baton Rouge had a car engine for 1991 Isuzu Trooper. I was surprised that the owner liked the vehicle so much, but apparently he did.
The other one of the two car engines I was supposed to pick up was for a 1970 Triumph TR6. I am still astounded that he found an engine for that car at all. I enjoyed the company of the man that I bought the car engines from. He was really sweet and took me out to dinner before I returned to Shreveport.
The restaurant that I went to in Baton Rouge was fantastic. My new-found friend treated me to a delicious Greek meal at Albasha Greek & Lebanese Restaurant. It was a lot more than I expected when I arrived at his shop to buy car engines. I plan to look him up again when I am in Baton Rouge. I’m hoping that car engines will bring us together again.
